Our Infant Department at Hemdean House School is housed in separate classrooms adjacent to the main school building. Class sizes are approximately 16 and the curriculum is delivered by experienced and well-qualified teachers. Learning activities are varied and involve group work and working in pairs as well as individual study. Each child has one-to-one time with his or her teacher, for literacy and/or numeracy activities every day.
The school day is 8.45am until 3.30pm with a one and half hour lunch break each day. Hot lunches are available on Wednesdays and Fridays in the school hall. Pupils bring in a packed lunch when hot lunches are not served.
The pupils are friendly, forthcoming and assured, their manners are excellent, and their behaviour throughout the school is exemplary. The pupils' progress also reflects their excellent attitudes to learning. Pupils apply themselves with commitment and enjoyment. They participate willingly and enthusiastically.ISI Report
